I read this book!--and the other ones. (But I'm not going to write a review of all four.) I'll just say: "She's okay. They're page-turners." My wife--and all my sisters--read them, and I like to read, so I was like "Okay, I'll do it." So they were kind of fun. I like fantasy stuff just fine. Maybe a tad average, some parts--but she definitely captivated America! Have to hand it to her. (She has as much money as Oprah Winfrey, and now lives in a castle in Scotland.) I'll say Book 2 was pretty slow. (And, obviously, it gives them problems--making the movie. And b/c Jacob is ugly.) They could have done the whole book in three or four chapters: So Edward is gone. But Jacob is there. So they start hanging out. So it becomes a love triangle. I get it. So the writing can be a tad aggravating--in that she can go on forever sometimes. Like, too, with "I don't want to marry him--even though I want to be with him forever." (I didn't understand that one. And, then, dwelt on too long.) But, overall, decently fun to read! And suspenseful. I wanted to find out what happened next, etc.! I think the 4th book was the best. That, by then, certain parts I thought: "Wow. The writing's really better here." (Or I thought: Maybe she had a different editor.) Renesme, though--that's one of the dumbest names ever. (Maybe she only used, to abbreviate/joke about Nessy. But that doesn't make sense, either.) But I liked the very ending. Good wrap-up: a gathering of vampires and [maybe I forgot what happened exactly:], but I liked the Volturi, and dealing with them.
So I just started...I will let you know more when I read more...but so far so good. Looks like a quick read...
